The new tool allows developers to maintain repositories, manage pull requests, and sync data with GitHub, unifying work with code and AI agents in a single environment.

As noted in the company's official changelog, Origin is rolling out in early beta and is currently only available to paid users. At launch, developers are offered a basic set of features, which they plan to add in the near future with specific tools focused on artificial intelligence.
All Origin projects are stored in a new Codebase tab. Users can create repositories directly in Cursor or connect existing ones from GitHub. Synchronization with the Microsoft platform works in real time: the developer himself chooses which repositories to transfer to Cursor. At the same time, all pushes will continue to go to GitHub, which will remain the main source of truth for projects started there.
Origin, our code hosting platform, is now live.

It's fast, easy to use, and deeply integrated with Cursor.

Special attention is paid to the pull request (PR) system. For synchronized repositories, PRs work in a two-way format: a comment or review left in Cursor appears on GitHub in a matter of seconds, and vice versa. The main advantage of the platform is deep AI integration. Cursor agents can answer questions about the code, make changes, update pull requests, or independently push new branches directly to the repository.
In parallel, Cursor is building an ecosystem of applications for Origin. Currently, integrations are available with Vercel to automatically create preview deployments for each PR, as well as with the Depot and Buildkite platforms to configure CI/CD processes, including support for existing GitHub Actions workflows.
