The incident, which occurred on Sunday, affected data center services in one of the company's regional groups, Bloomberg writes .
The company said on its website that the facility's power supply was cut off by firefighters while they extinguished the blaze. In a separate post, the company said it was investigating communications and power issues in Bahrain.
“One of our availability zones… was impacted by objects striking the data center, causing sparks and fire,” the company said Monday.
According to Amazon's website, an availability zone can consist of one or more data centers. The company has three availability zones in the UAE, according to its coverage map.
It is also reported that a separate area of the data centers was affected by a "local power issue."
