Salaries of IT managers in Ukraine have increased by 66% in eight years. The average C-level salary is $5,800 — study

The median monthly salary of managers in the Ukrainian IT industry in 2026 is $5,800 net. Over the past eight years, this figure has increased by 66% - from $3,500 in 2018.

This is evidenced by the results of an annual survey by recruiting companies Indigo and .Gidni, in which 210 managers of IT companies participated.

The researchers note that this year, for the first time, the headline indicator included the base salary, excluding bonuses, so comparing it with last year's $7,400 is incorrect.

"All figures are self-reported data from study participants, not a cross-section of the entire market. This year, we deliberately shifted the emphasis of the main figure to the base monthly salary, excluding bonuses," the study authors explain.

According to the survey, the median salary of a C-level specialist in Ukrainian IT is $5,800 per month. At the same time, salaries for managers range from $4,000 to $10,950.

Almost half of IT managers received promotions

Despite the relatively stable median, the market is showing positive dynamics at the level of individual professionals.

Over the last year:

  • 47.6% of respondents received a salary increase;
  • 45.2% reported that their income had not changed;
  • only 7.2% faced a reduction in compensation.

Among those who received a salary increase, the median increase was $800 per month, or 16.7%.

Meanwhile, for those who received a reduction, the median drop was $1,000.

"There are almost seven times more increases than decreases. That is, at the individual level, the dynamics are growth, despite a stable aggregate median," the study authors note.

Why is the number lower than last year?

In 2025, the study’s public figure was $7,400. However, that included not only a fixed salary but also bonuses and other benefits. This year’s figure of $5,800 reflects only the base salary.

According to the study authors, if the total monthly income is calculated using a similar methodology, its median is about $6,480. The researchers emphasize that it is not worth directly comparing the results of different years, since each survey is conducted on a new sample of respondents.
