On January 22, the website of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine published an order from the National Center for Operational and Technical Management of Telecommunications Networks (NCT) to block the domain name kuna.io. It states that the requirement came after an appeal from the Bureau of Economic Security and a ruling from the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv.
Users of the Kuna crypto exchange report that they have started receiving notifications in their emails about the service being blocked in Ukraine. The letter from the founder of the crypto exchange, Mykhailo Chobanyan, states that most providers have already complied with the State Service for Special Communications, and «it is a matter of time before the remaining telecommunications operators do so».
Currently, the kuna.io website is not available from lifecell mobile internet, but it opens from some other providers.
«This order indicates the BEB and the ruling of the Shevchenko Court of Kyiv. As you understand, we were not invited to the court, and we learned about the blocking from users from Ukraine. Our entire infrastructure is located on cloud servers in Europe, so only users from Ukraine cannot access it», — Kuna said in the letter.
The company is reportedly currently investigating the details of the blocking.
