Ukrainian company DevDroid has introduced an innovative modular control system, Droid Box, which aims to dramatically accelerate the development and integration of ground robotic complexes.
The Droid Box is essentially the "brain" of a ground drone, responsible for all key functions, including communication, control, and integration of combat modules.
Time savings: Allows NRC manufacturers to bring new solutions to the battlefield much faster, as “there is no need to spend months building a control system from scratch.”
Universal Control: The system supports control from a tablet or gamepad through an intuitive interface, reducing the training time for military operators.
Stable communication: Droid Box supports simultaneous connection of multiple communication channels (Radio, LTE, Starlink), ensuring stable control even in an active combat zone.
Modularity: Additional elements can be easily connected to the Droid Box NRC, for example, the Wolly combat module from DevDroid, which turns the logistics platform into a reconnaissance and strike complex.
AI Perspectives: The system opens up opportunities for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) elements for autonomous target detection and tracking.

“We are creating a single ecosystem within which manufacturers can quickly integrate their platforms without developing everything from scratch. This allows you to focus on scaling production and creating new products,” explains Yuriy Poritsky, CEO of DevDroid.
The Droid Box system has already been successfully integrated into a number of Ukrainian ground drones, including:
NUMO is a multi-purpose tracked NRC (logistics and combat missions).
The Snail is a universal platform for delivering ammunition and evacuating the wounded.
The Snake is an armored robot that is resistant to anti-personnel mines.
Bison is a platform for transportation, evacuation, and fire support.
Previously, DevDroids integrated wired power into the Recruit repeater drone, which can operate for up to five hours in the air when powered by a ground source.
