According to the Cyber Police Department of the National Police, a 33-year-old French citizen organized the illegal activities of an Internet provider in Ukraine, and since 2022, the servers of this company have been used to host Internet resources related to child porn, drug sales, stolen data, the circulation of malicious software, and money laundering.
It is noted that this French citizen owns the equipment from which up to 70% of child pornography allegedly entered the Ukrainian segment of the Internet.
«In addition, the defendant’s servers hosted one of the most famous illegal online markets, which had tens of thousands of users and provided platforms for committing cybercrimes, including attacks on banking institutions, hacking computer systems and smartphones, and legalizing cryptocurrencies obtained through criminal means,» the Cyberpolice note.
Operatives of the Cyber Police Department, together with investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, conducted searches at the defendant’s residence and in a data center in Kyiv, as a result of which a complex of server equipment, computer equipment, digital media, and documentation were seized.
According to law enforcement officials, further procedural actions and analysis of the seized materials are currently underway.
