The Rakuten Viber messenger team conducted a survey on its official Ukrainian channel with 30,000 subscribers on whether Ukrainians would donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Only 6% «see no point» in donating.
Where do the numbers come from?
Research methodology — anonymous online survey, n>30,000. Key age group — 34-45 years old, more than 50% of respondents under the age of 45.
63% of respondents continue to donate in 2024, another 27% helped in other ways (the same figures were at the end of 2023), and more than half of Ukrainians learn about the fundraiser from friends and acquaintances. This is stated in a Rakuten Viber press release.
The survey results showed that 63% of Ukrainians donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine: 44% of them do so from each salary. At the same time, every fourth respondent (27%) helps in other ways. Only 6% of those surveyed do not see the point in donating.
To the question, «Will you donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and your friends who serve?»Ukrainians answered as follows:
Yes, regularly from each salary — 44% (46% at the end of 2023).
I help in other ways — 27% (26% at the end of 2023).
Irregularly, but after each shelling I turn my anger into donations — 14% (the same amount at the end of 2023).
I don’t see any point in this — 6% (4% at the end of 2023).
Of course, a little every day — 5% (6% at the end of 2023).
I serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine — 4% (5% at the end of 2023).
Viber users also revealed where they learn about the meetings. More than half (53%) support meetings through friends and acquaintances, learning from them. Another 13% of users learn from the news.
The answers to the question «Where do you most often find out about the fees?» were distributed as follows:
I support gatherings of friends and acquaintances, I learn from them — 53%.
I find out from the news, through news channels that support the gathering — 13%.
I learn from bloggers and influencers I follow — 11%.
I follow large funds that do this — 5%.
I find out in another way — 18%.
Recall that earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov said that more than 2 million Ukrainians have already received funds under the Winter eSupport program. He also named the areas where this financial assistance is spent the most, where it was indicated that donations to the Defense Forces of Ukraine account for 4%.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs said that only 4% of Ukrainians spend «a thousand rubles» on donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This may be an error due to the counting system of some banks
The head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs told what Ukrainians spend their «votnye 1000» on. Only 4% was directed to donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
