The investment amount is not disclosed, but the average Double Tap check is from $100,000 to $300,000. This is reported by Forbes Ukraine. The fund specializes in transformational technology sectors, including defense, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Its focus is on high-return investments.
«In addition to supporting DTI’s strategy to help Ukraine win, this collaboration also plays a significant role in implementing the recently published Finnish Unmanned Systems Strategy 2030,» said foundation co-founder Jan Saarinen.
Black Forest Systems produces the «Virok» infantry support reconnaissance and strike drone; it took 6 months to develop it. It is designed to destroy opponents in an assault or defense and is designed to be used by a regular infantryman with basic technical skills.
Last March, Jan Saarinen visited Kyiv, where he met with over 20 Ukrainian startups working in the field of defense technologies. He noted that Ukrainian startups need investments now, and these should be investments «in capabilities, not in quantity,» because «there is no point in filling warehouses with equipment that will be obsolete in 6 months.»
Double Tap recently released its official position following the Munich Security Conference.
