Ukrainian investment company Dragon Capital has begun investing in the miltech sector. Founder and CEO of the company, Tomasz Fiala, stated that Ukrainian defense technology developers have already become world leaders, whose achievements can only be envied.
The businessman said this during the discussion «Welfare of the Nation», organized by the NV media group. As the Interfax-Ukraine news agency specifies, the investment group was looking at the miltech sector back in 2023, but then refrained from financial steps. Currently, the company is investing not directly, but through several specialized funds founded by industry experts.
«Ukraine will be a leader here. It is already a leader. We ourselves started investing in this sector last year. Everyone can envy what has been created in Ukraine over the past four years,» emphasized Tomasz Fiala.
He added that today the miltech sphere is virtually the only sector in Ukraine that does not experience a lack of funding. It is noted that foreign investors are showing significant interest in purchasing shares of Ukrainian weapons developers and manufacturers.
For Dragon Capital, such investments are a strategic tool for risk diversification. According to the company’s chairman, in the event of a prolonged military conflict, the defense sector will develop even faster, making investments highly profitable. If the war ends quickly, the main margin will be provided by the investment group’s classic commercial projects in other areas, which will recover at a higher rate.
