«This was one of the largest air strikes, a demonstratively significant and cynical strike. A total of 550 targets were hit, of which at least 330 were Russian-Iranian „shaheeds“, missiles were also used, including ballistic ones,» the president said.
According to him, the main target of this attack was Kyiv. The Defense Forces managed to shoot down 270 air targets, and another 208 drones were suppressed by electronic warfare means.
«Interceptor drones have started working — dozens of hits. We are doing everything to develop this direction of protecting our cities. And it is very important that the support of partners in ballistic protection is maintained. Patriots and missiles are real defenders of life for them», — Zelenskyy emphasized.
Activist and volunteer Serhiy Sternenko, whose community has donated over 200,000 FPV drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, added that interceptor drones shot down about 20% of the «shaheeds».
«They showed good statistics tonight. We won’t post the video yet, so as not to give gifts to the enemy, who will start building resistance,» wrote Sternenko, who announced a fundraiser to purchase drones to intercept «shaheeds». In an hour, more than 6 million UAH was accumulated for this purpose.
Recall that at the end of May, President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed to «significantly increase our production of interceptor drones» — for this, Ukraine will attract more funding from partners.
In June, it became known that the Defense Forces destroyed 258 Russian Merlin, ZALA-20, Lancet, Molniya, Skat, and Gerber UAVs worth over UAH 1 billion thanks to the Taras-P interceptor drone.
