«Hell» technically becomes a cruise missile due to the presence of a jet engine. A significantly smaller warhead makes the drone very similar to a kamikaze drone. The new drone-missile is capable of flying at speeds of up to 700 km/h. The developers told «Economic Truth» about this.
The missile has at least two guidance methods — an inertial system and GPS. The launch method is not disclosed for security reasons, as is information about other installed or promising guidance systems by the developer. However, it is known that the development of various variants of the missile is currently ongoing.
The size of the warhead is relatively small: it can be compared to a conventional long-range kamikaze drone.
The exact price of one serial missile is also not disclosed, but it will be less than the cost of the Ukrainian kamikaze drone «Furious», which costs approximately $200,000.
According to the developer, the rocket is 70% made of Ukrainian components produced by state and private companies. The rocket will be able to operate on different engines, depending on their availability on the market.
According to the company, whose name is not being disclosed, the idea to create such a missile came after consultation with the military. In August 2023, the company developed a technical task and drew the first sketches. The development program lasted one year, was financed by the manufacturer itself and cost him several million dollars.
When the product was almost ready, it was demonstrated to the military at the training ground. President Zelensky was invited to one of the demonstrations. According to the EP, it was he who came up with the name «Peklo» because the rocket evoked appropriate associations in him.
As the EP learned, since the beginning of development, there have been at least five combat applications of «Peklo», one of which, previously, ended in the destruction of a high-value Russian military target.
After the development and codification were completed, the Peklo missile immediately went into mass production. Over the past three months, the developer has produced about 100 missiles and is currently increasing production capacity.
