Auterion cooperates with the Ukrainian startup Swarmer, which creates AI technology to unite drones in a swarm .
Auterion's solution helps track a target on the battlefield using a technology called pixel-lock, where the drone locks onto its prey using a camera and computer without the need for a remote operator.
Skynode integrates a range of functions, including homing, targeting and networking, using fully digital communications that make it difficult to hack or jam.
Auterion founder Lorenz Mayer compares this to how smartphones have combined tasks that were previously performed separately by cell phones, digital cameras and sat-nav devices. Because of its versatility, it has also been used on fixed-wing attack drones that have a longer range, he said.
In the summer, Auterion announced the completion of development of the Skynode S minicomputer and flight controller with machine vision, which is supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
