Lori Wright and Haiyan Zhang are leaving their positions after nearly ten years at Microsoft, writes WindowsReport.
As corporate vice president of partnerships, business development and marketing at Xbox, Lori Wright played a key role in shaping the platform’s global strategy, overseeing platform partnerships, content licensing, developer programs and expanding Xbox’s presence in the marketplace.
Wright posted a message on LinkedIn reflecting on her time at Microsoft, expressing gratitude for the colleagues and partners she has worked with throughout her tenure. She appears to be leaving on a positive note, with no signs of internal conflict.
Haiyan Zhang, who served as general manager and gaming AI partner at Microsoft Gaming, is also leaving the company. During her time at Xbox, she contributed in many areas, including Chief of Staff and Director of Innovation at Xbox Game Studios.
In a statement, Zhang called leaving Microsoft “the hardest decision of my life,” highlighting the emotional complexity of the transition. She plans to join Netflix next, where she will focus on growing the company’s gaming initiatives.
In parallel with his new position, Zhang plans to continue his non-profit activities within the Thriven Foundation, which focuses on using artificial intelligence to solve socially significant issues.
