Ukrainian engineering and product company Dwarf Engineering demonstrated how its Narsil module for autonomous control of FPV drones works. At the Joint Ventures, Joint Defence forum, the system was tested by pilots who had not previously used Narsil to test its effectiveness in conditions of limited training.
A Dwarf Engineering press release notes that the drone was piloted by pilots from General Chereshnya and another unnamed company during the demonstration. Two Narsil FPV drones (with and without payloads) were able to independently aim and engage static targets without the assistance of pilots.
Dwarf Engineering claims that the module increases the effectiveness of drones and ensures a hit rate of 80%. It is suitable for operation in electronic warfare environments and in the hands of inexperienced UAV operators.
The Narsil module can be installed on any FPV drone, regardless of size or payload. It supports both digital and analog communication and works with thermal and infrared cameras.
The system has two modes:
«cruise» — allows you to search for a target without moving the drone or camera;
«Terminate» — ensures the pursuit and destruction of the target even when it changes trajectory.

«In addition to accuracy and ease of use, Narsil guarantees data security: if the equipment falls into the hands of an enemy, all information is automatically erased,» the company assures.
Previously, the head of Dwarf Engineering, Oleksandr Bakhmach, told dev,ua that the company’s production is localized by approximately 75%, because at least half of their product is software.
«The board is not currently made of Ukrainian components, but it could be. We want to buy boards — IP — or manufacture them ourselves, in Ukraine, depending on what the market can afford. Many factors influence this,» Bakhmach noted.
