As the author of the application reported on the social network Threads, BRUNQ appeared on the App Store a few days ago, and is already in 4th place in the lifestyle category.
«BRUNQ is your home greenhouse in your phone. For both your first monstera and a collection of a hundred pots: reminders, a guide, and a care calendar in one app,» the app’s description states .
A smart care schedule includes watering based on the size of the pot; fertilizing with a separate reminder for each fertilizer; spraying for tropical plants; notifications about overdue watering of plants, etc.
The AI assistant in the application, in turn, helps recognize plants by photo, and also helps search for tips on caring for a plant by name, with suggestions for varieties.
The application also contains a built-in plant database, including over 130 indoor species.
Additionally, thanks to the built-in lux meter, BRUNQ can determine how much light each plant is receiving. In turn, the app offers a light norm scale for the corresponding species with the daily light intensity (DLI).
It is important that Yulia Ilkova’s app works without the Internet. «Your garden lives on your device,» states its description on the App Store.
BRUNQ currently supports five languages — Ukrainian, English, Polish, German, and Spanish.
The one-time paid version of the app forever includes reminders, a calendar, a care log, and a built-in plant database, but also has limitations — up to three shelves and five AI queries.
Instead, the Premium version removes three limitations: unlimited plant recognition via AI, unlimited shelves, and provides a copy of the collection to your Google Drive.
The app includes three payment methods: monthly or annual subscription or a one-time payment forever, without auto-renewal.
Interestingly, Ukrainian specialists have already proposed more than one technological solution in this area. For example, Ukrainian IT specialist Daria Terekhova, after being fired from her IT job , created «Parostok» — an AI assistant for growing plants — in two months .
Meanwhile, last year, the PlantIn app, which is based on Machine Learning and helps you care for plants, became the top app in terms of downloads in the App Store.
