The organization is currently accepting applications for the Financial Support to Startups Open Call. The earliest deadline is August 31, 2026, and the next deadline is November 16, 2026.
Unlike classic grant programs, EIT Urban Mobility does not finance startups independently, but enters an already open investment round as a co-investor.
This means that the company must already be in negotiations or raising funds from venture funds or other private investors. In this case, EIT Urban Mobility can invest up to 2.5 million euros, strengthening the round.
In addition to funding, participants gain access to a network of over 200 partners across Europe, including cities, universities, corporations, research centers and investment funds. This opens up opportunities for pilot projects, product scaling and entry into new markets.
The program is focused on startups at the pre-seed; seed; Series A stages.

Ukraine is an associated country of the Horizon Europe program, so Ukrainian companies can apply for participation. However, the organizers recommend to clarify in advance the compliance with all criteria before submitting an application.
Priority areas include solutions in the areas of urban logistics, public transport and shared mobility, transport data analytics and management, electric transport and charging infrastructure, safety, accessibility and health in mobility.
An additional advantage will be the use of artificial intelligence, the combination of several directions in one product, and a focus on inclusivity.
Submission is done through the EIT Urban Mobility Programme Portal. First, you need to register your organisation, fill in the Partner Information Form, and then select a competition. Financial Support to Startups Open Call and submit an application by the relevant deadline.
Before each application round, the organizers also hold online information sessions for potential participants.
