Former Treasury Secretary and ex-president of Harvard University Larry Summers has resigned from the board of directors of OpenAI.
He himself told Axios about this amid the revelation of his ties to the scandalous Jeffrey Epstein.
«Consistent with my announcement to step down from my public commitments, I have also decided to step down from the OpenAI board of directors. I am excited about the company’s potential and look forward to seeing it progress,» Summers said.
In turn, the OpenAI board of directors said that it respects Larry Summers' decision.
«We value his contributions and the perspective he brings to the board of directors,» they said.
Recall that a House of Representatives committee recently released years of correspondence between Epstein and Summers. Among the messages was one episode in which Summers allegedly sought advice on a relationship with a woman.
These revelations prompted both Republicans and Democrats to demand that all organizations and businesses sever working ties with Summers.
Recall that last year, documents related to the case of American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of pedophilia and prostitution, were made public in the United States. In November of this year, the vast majority of congressmen in the US House of Representatives supported the full publication of documents from the investigation into billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
