She said this during the presentation of the new Drone Security Index project in Kyiv.
“If we want to have geopolitical power, we need to think about European sovereign AI, and here Ukraine and other European countries can obviously pool resources,” she emphasized.
In this context, Lesya Ogryzko commented on the cooperation of the American company Palantir with Ukraine, because, in her opinion, such cooperation is disproportionately more beneficial to the company itself than to us.
“Let’s not go into the topic of what is happening now and how Palantir is “vacuum-cleaning” all of us. Of course, thanks for the help they provide, but it is absolutely disproportionate to the “black gold” they receive in the form of our data,” says the director of the Sahaidachnyi Security Center.
When asked by one of the journalists to specify her opinion, Ogryzko clarified that she meant an unfair ratio — the company receives extremely valuable data from the Ukrainian battlefield for the development of its own AI system, and this does not compare to what Ukraine receives in return.
However, she thanked Palantir for their useful contributions to operations planning.
“Obviously, we are very grateful to the company for the services we receive and the capabilities they help build in planning operations and their implementation,” the expert noted.
Nevertheless, according to her, a significant part of the Ukrainian expert community shares her position.
Previously, military and popular blogger Valeriy Marcus questioned the benefits that Ukraine supposedly receives from cooperation with Palantir.
In turn, the co-owner of Fire Point called for a review of cooperation with Palantir due to their agreement with Nebius, created by the co-founder of Yandex.
Meanwhile, former Minister Mikhail Fedorov announced the launch of a new Defense Tech company with the support of Palantir CEO Alex Karp.
