After massive shelling of energy infrastructure and widespread power outages across Ukraine, the Epicenter shopping mall chain recorded a sharp increase in demand for products for autonomous energy supply.
According to the company’s analytical department, the very next day after the air attacks that took place on the night of October 9-10, sales of such goods increased almost 4 times.
The demand for power banks, burners and tourist tiles increased the most (8.4 times), charging stations (almost 7 times), as well as lanterns and gas cylinders (3.7 times).
Sales of generators capable of providing energy autonomy for private homes have also increased significantly. Their sales in the Epicenter network have increased almost threefold. In addition, positive dynamics of sales volumes were observed in the categories of candles (+60%), batteries (+39%) and accumulators (+20%).
«As we can see, Ukrainians are reacting very quickly and pragmatically to power outages and the threat of further attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure. People are preparing for repeated outages by buying chargers, light sources, and autonomous power systems. All of these products are represented in the Epicenter network in sufficient quantities, so we are able to meet the growing demand and all the needs of the population,» the Epicenter network press service reported.
The company also recalled that to support Ukrainians during the energy crisis, the Epicenter network launched the «Chargers» project back in 2022, opening gadget charging stations in the company’s shopping centers across the country.
Epicenter has also been reducing energy use for many years, following a strategic course on energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. The retailer installs solar panels on the roofs of shopping centers, uses LED lamps, and implements other energy-efficient solutions.
