At the same time, there has been a rapid growth in the number of R&D centers - their number in the special regime has increased from a dozen to almost two hundred in less than a year.
Currently, almost 500 Defense Tech companies are registered in "Diya.City", which are engaged in the development of drones, robotic systems, and specialized software. This is reported by the DOU publication, citing data from the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
In the last quarter alone, 38 defense companies joined the space. The number of R&D centers has also increased significantly: after the government allowed them to join the regime, their number increased from 14 (in April 2025) to 195.
Analysts have recorded a noticeable change in the employment structure at "Diya.City". If a year ago, about 60% of IT workers worked under employment contracts, then as of December 2025 this share had increased to 66.7%. 30% of specialists are now on gig contracts, and the share of those who cooperate as sole proprietors has decreased to a minimum — 3.3%.
At the same time, not everyone manages to stay in the special regime. Over the entire period of the existence of "Diya.City", 464 companies have lost their resident status, with 53 of them losing it in the last three months. As noted by the Ministry of Digital, the most common reasons for exclusion are non-compliance with residency criteria, problems with reporting, or voluntary withdrawal due to the inability to meet the requirements.
Earlier, Mykhailo Fedorov announced that as of the beginning of 2026, the number of resident companies had reached 3,500, employing almost 140,000. For comparison, in January 2025, 1,550 companies with a total staff of 96,000 employees had resident status.
