Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, Fedorov will replace Svyrydenko (who will head the government) as First Deputy Prime Minister.
«Meeting with Yulia Svyrydenko and Mykhailo Fedorov. We are preparing the first steps of the renewed government. We detailed the tasks for the next six months,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported .
According to him, the main task now is to increase the production of Ukraine’s own weapons, fully ensure the contracting of the necessary volumes of all types of drones for the Ukrainian Defense Forces, carry out «significant deregulation and release the internal economic potential» of Ukraine, and ensure the full implementation of social support programs.
Earlier, Zelenskyy suggested that Yulia Svyrydenko «lead the government of Ukraine and significantly update its work,» replacing Denys Shmyhal, who had headed the Cabinet of Ministers for the last 5 years, as Prime Minister.
As reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, Shmyhal will take over as Minister of Defense, and the current Minister Rustem Umerov will become Ambassador to the United States. According to Zheleznyak, in the renewed government, the position of First Deputy Prime Minister will be held by Mykhailo Fedorov, who will also be Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization.
This is confirmed by one of Forbes Ukraine’s sources among high-ranking officials, but another insider says that the position of First Deputy Prime Minister may go to the Minister of Community Development, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksiy Kuleba.
It is expected that on July 16, the Verkhovna Rada will dismiss the current government. And on July 17, it will vote on new appointments to the Cabinet of Ministers.
«We have completely rethought what we are doing with Diya.» Fedorov said that Diya will become a state-owned company with a commercial model, and the application of the same name will turn into an AI agent.
