The fake recruiter first rejected the candidate, and then offered to “brush up” her resume for money. How the new scam scheme works

Communications manager Iryna Salikhova received an email from a recruiter offering her a job. But it turned out that the employer knew nothing about this person, who was trying to "steam" the services of a career consultant.
In the email, the fake recruiter asked her to send her resume directly, said communications manager Iryna Salikhova.
When the candidate asked to provide a link to the vacancy, the "recruiter" sent only a text description.
“Everything looked plausible, so since my CV was already publicly available, I sent it without hesitation,” Iryna noted.
After that, the most interesting thing began. The "recruiter" then wrote that the automated system had rejected the candidate's resume due to the incorrect structure, and offered the services of a "career consultant" who, for a fee, would "comb" her resume to meet the standards.
Iryna had doubts about this, so she checked the company's official website and wrote to her directly. The employer replied that this person had nothing to do with the company: all vacancies are published only on the website, and employees use only corporate email, not Gmail.
"Always check the origin of emails, especially when it comes to paying for any services. I stopped in time and didn't lose anything — and I really hope that this post will save someone from making a similar mistake," the communications manager concluded.
