Ukrainian Fuelfinance has launched MCP integration with Claude — now AI works with live financial data, not yesterday’s exports, said Yaroslav Azhnyuk, co-founder of the service.
Fuelfinance, he said, was one of the first FP&A platforms in the world with such a solution. In finance, 99% of the answers are still wrong.
Fuelfinance launched Fuel MCP, an integration that gives Claude direct access to a client’s live financial data within the platform.
The problem this solves is this: most AI tools in finance work like a chatbot, building answers based on yesterday’s CSV exports. This is critical for financial analysis — data gets outdated quickly, and even a 1% error in calculations means a wrong decision.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol from Anthropic that allows Claude to connect to external data sources in real time. Fuelfinance uses this as a «socket»: the client’s data — actuals, forecasts, scenarios, cash flow — already lives in the platform, and Claude simply connects to it directly instead of guessing from exports.
Fuel already has direct connections to QuickBooks, Stripe, HubSpot, banks, payroll systems, and over 350 other tools. Data is normalized and verified — Claude doesn’t interpret raw exports, but works with clean structured data.
Fuelfinance is a Ukrainian company founded in 2019 by Alyona Mysko and Yaroslav Azhnyuk. The main market is the US. The first version of Fuel was built on Google Sheets — «held on formulas, scotch tape, and too much coffee.» The platform now manages over $500 million in client P&L and is approaching $3 million in ARR.
In 2023, they raised $1 million in a seed round. Investors included Bolt CEO Markus Willig and SendBird CEO John Kim. In 2022, despite a full-scale invasion, the team remained in Ukraine and tripled its business. Part of the work was done from bomb shelters. Clients include Reface, Petcube, Awesomic and other YC-backed startups. As of early 2026, they had 44 employees.
