For the second night in a row, Ukraine is being attacked by jet-powered "shaheeds." Experts say that interceptor drones are ineffective against them.

On the night of July 31, the Russians carried out another massive combined attack, using 317 airstrikes, including 288 UAVs. Direct hits of five missiles and 21 strike UAVs were recorded in 12 locations, as well as falling debris in 19 locations, almost all in the capital.

In Kyiv and the region, a new sharp sound was heard, coming from flying drones. As expert Serhiy "Flash" notes, this is due to the Russians' use of jet "Shaheeds" and is a response to the use of interceptor drones.

"My dear Ukrainians, unfortunately, now we will learn a new night sound - the sound of the Shahed jet. Not en masse yet, but for the second day in a row. The Shahed jet is the enemy's response to the success of our anti-aircraft drones. There is no information yet on how many of them there will be in the coming months," the military expert noted.

The Ukrainian Air Force Command reported that a total of eight jet-powered drones had been deployed as of 9:00 p.m. on July 30.

Most likely, the Russians have started to launch drones ofthe Shahed-238 type, which received the localized Russian name "Geran-3". It is known that due to the jet engine, the Shahed-238 has a much higher speed than its predecessor Shahed-136, whose speed is approximately 190 km/h. According to "Military", the maximum speed of the Shahed-238 is 600 km/h, which is significantly higher than the speed of interceptor drones (approximately 250 km/h).

At the beginning of the year, Serhiy "Flash" reported on the first use of "Shaheds" with a jet engine in Ukraine, according to him, the drone accelerated to 500 km/h . However, the Air Force did not confirm this information, as well as the shooting down of a drone with a jet engine.

As reported by "Military", at the end of June, the wreckage of the Geran-3 drone with the serial number U-36 was found.
