According to Fedorenko, the main reason for the increase in the flight range of FPV drones is the development of battery technologies. «If earlier a drone could fly 15–20 kilometers, today under the same weather conditions it reaches 30–40 kilometers. Those front-line cities and villages that FPV could not reach technically before are now at risk,» he explained.
Fiber-optic FPV drones pose a particular danger. Unlike conventional drones, they transmit a signal via a cable up to 40 km long, so they do not depend on the terrain and do not react to the operation of electronic warfare. «Electronic warfare means cannot affect this drone in any way. All that can stop it is mechanical damage to the fiber-optic cable,» the commander noted.
Fedorenko also emphasized that the Russian military deliberately attacks civilian targets, so the inscription «Children» or «People» on a car is no protection.
According to him, when you hear the characteristic buzz of an FPV drone, you should not waste time filming a video or trying to escape by car.
«When you hear something buzzing, you don’t need to take out your phone and film it. You need to immediately assess the situation and decide where the nearest shelter is,» the military man emphasized.
He explained that modern FPV drones reach speeds of up to 150 km/h, so it is practically impossible to catch up with them by car.
What to do during an FPV drone attack
According to Yuriy Fedorenko’s recommendations:
don’t try to escape from an FPV drone in a car — there’s almost no chance;
if you are in a car, stop immediately, leave the car and run in different directions with other passengers;
seek shelter as soon as possible behind trees, concrete structures, in a ditch or other natural or artificial obstacle;
if there is a forest strip or a planting nearby, move there;
Do not stay at the entrance to the building, but go down as deep as possible;
in cities, use shelters or the subway rather than open spaces;
do not film an attack on your phone — every second can save a life;
Remember that anti-drone nets only increase the chances of survival, but do not guarantee complete protection.
According to the commander of the Achilles, even if a person receives a concussion or injury while in cover, their chances of survival are much higher than in the case of a direct hit by a drone.

На український ударний дрон PUNISHER зібрали понад 1,3 млн грн. Що може гроза командних центрів ворога
Дмитро Томчук повідомив, що найлегші та найменші ударні дрони PUNISHER, які не мають аналогів у світі, тепер коштують $70 000. Виробник додав у комплекс ще одного безпілотника, і тепер їх там два. Дмитро пише, що Юлія Черешня та Павло Харузов зібрали на комплекс більше 1,3 млн грн.

США в черговому пакеті допомоги надасть Україні дрони Switchblade 600. Подробиці про ці та інші «пташки», якими користуються українські захисники
Серед списку допомоги, яку пропонує Пентагон, є дрони-камікадзе Switchblade 600, які офіційний Київ просив передати раніше.
Контракт на дослідження та розробку для 10 дронів SwitchBlade 600 виробника Aerovironment, очікується протягом наступних 30 днів, заявила прес-секретар Пентагона Джессіка Максвелл в електронному листі до News Defense.
