Fullstack displaces Frontend: hiring in this category increased by 28% in 2025
Djinni presented its IT market analytics for 2025. As of mid-December, more than 90,000 vacancies were published on the site. This is already 10% more than for the whole of last year. The number of vacancies for IT specialists, which require 1 year of experience, has increased the most, but there are fewer offers for seniors. Also, for the third year in a row, there has been a decrease in the number of beginner candidates, especially developers.

Key IT market trends on Djinni
The number of vacancies requiring 1 year of experience has increased by 20%, Djinni reports .
The share of senior vacancies has decreased - from 21% in 2024 to 19% now.
“Fullstackization” is one of the main trends this year, Djinni notes. Fullstack ranks third in the overall ranking (8.5%), displacing Frontend from the top categories. By the way, Frontend has become the most competitive direction at DOU.
The second important trend is the growth of Data Science vacancies. Over the year, the share of this category online has more than doubled.

Number of candidates: there are fewer newcomers
The total number of candidates in the search has hardly changed over the year: 82,000 were at the beginning of the year, and the same number is now.
The number of beginners looking for work is decreasing every year: 2023 — 18%, 2024 — 11%, 2025 — 7.5%. This applies most to developers, and even in marketing there are fewer beginners. The only industry where the number of beginners has increased over the year is data specialists. Their search has increased by as much as 20%, and with a year of experience — by as much as 30%.
The situation with experienced specialists is the opposite: their number has been growing for the third year in a row. This year, their share increased from 41% to 49%.

The decline in hiring affected almost all professions
In the first 11 months of 2025, the number of hires decreased by 4%. Despite this, as noted on Djinni, this is a good result, for example, in 2024 this figure was -20%.
Almost all categories experienced a decrease in hiring, especially DevOps and managers.
The biggest hiring growth in 2025 is in the Fullstack category, up 28%. Hiring in the Project Management category, which was in 5th place last year, has decreased by 15%. There has also been a significant decline in PHP hiring (-17%), DevOps (-15%), and Node.js (-20%).

Salaries
There is a decrease in salary at all experience levels, except for candidates with no experience: their median salary was $500 in 2022 and remains the same now.
“The good news is that the drop is much less noticeable than the previous two years,” Djinni noted.

Additionally, the share of expensive candidates among those hired has decreased over the year. For example, $5K was almost guaranteed for leads (94%), now 20% of candidates in this category have less than $5,000 in their profile.
Among DevOps, the share of expensive hires is 39% (was 43%), Data Science — 36% (unchanged), Node.js — 32% (was 40%). But perhaps the most dramatic drop in salaries is among Java specialists — now 28% hire with 5,000 in their profile, down from 49%.
Reviews and suggestions
This year, candidates posted 2.3 million reviews on Djinni. That's 18% less than the same time last year. Recruiters, on the other hand, started posting more often, up 21%, although the number of offers is still half the number of reviews.
Despite the fact that JavaScript candidates are becoming fewer, it is still the most competitive category in terms of the number of job applications.
