A key innovation is Workspace Intelligence. It integrates into Gmail, Calendar, Chat, and Drive, as well as office tools like Docs, Slides, and Sheets. The AI analyzes the user’s accumulated data to help them perform daily tasks. The company emphasizes administrative control: users or company administrators can independently choose which data sources the AI will have access to, or turn the system off completely.
Google Sheets now lets you create and fill out spreadsheets using text commands. Gemini can format cells, extract information, and turn unstructured data into organized lists. The company says that predictive data entry will make filling out spreadsheets much faster than usual.
For working with texts, Google Docs has introduced content generation and improvement tools. Users can ask Gemini to “help write” a document or adapt the text to their writing style by imitating their own voice. The system uses context from previous Gmail correspondence and documents on Google Drive to create the most relevant drafts.
“Workspace Intelligence provides unified, real-time insights to support proactive work — it’s not just connecting to your applications and extracting data to create an outcome,” Google assures.
The company previously integrated a new feature called Skills into its Chrome web browser, which will allow users to save and reuse their favorite text queries to artificial intelligence. They can be run on different web pages without having to type them again.
