Grammarly’s writing assistant has received support for grammar and spelling in 17 more languages.
«With the launch of the beta version, you can write in more than 20 supported languages and get reliable feedback in real time. Whether you’re a student finishing a thesis in Korean, a marketer developing campaigns in Dutch, or a developer collaborating with colleagues in Ukrainian, Grammarly will help you catch errors, maintain stylistic consistency, and work faster — wherever you write,» the company said in a statement.
The beta currently supports grammar and spelling correction in these 17 languages; the developers promise to add suggestions for fluency, clarity, and tone soon. All corrections are available in real time if the user has the Grammarly browser extension and/or desktop app installed. The assistant also offers built-in translation in 19 languages.
The company notes that the new languages are currently in beta because the developers want to refine the assistant’s corrections and suggestions to the level provided for English.
«In the near future, we will offer enhanced clarity, tone, and fluency recommendations for all 17 new supported languages. This means that blue underlines that help you improve your sentences, correct your delivery, and communicate more effectively will be available for Turkish, Hindi, Korean, and all other languages mentioned,» Grammarly promised.
Recall that in early March, the company introduced an agent-based feature called Expert Review, which offers edits from various professional experts: prominent scientists, writers, and professors. It was accused of «necrosis» for using an AI clone of a deceased scientist.
