According to Reuters, the UK government has contracted a package of drones worth 350 million pounds ($473 million) as part of a wider military aid program to Ukraine worth 4.5 million pounds.
As Reuters notes, UK Defense Secretary John Healy will announce the package during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which will be held today in Brussels with the participation of 50 states.
"The UK is stepping up its support for Ukraine and delivering hundreds of thousands of additional drones this year, as well as completing a significant milestone in the delivery of critically needed artillery ammunition," Healy said ahead of the meeting.
In addition to supplying drones, the UK said it had completed the delivery of 140,000 artillery shells to Ukraine since January and would spend an additional £247 million this year on training Ukrainian military personnel.
It also became known that for the first time since the establishment of the Contact Group on Defense Issues in Ukraine, the head of the Pentagon will not visit it. It is reported that US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will arrive in Brussels this evening, after the Ramstein format meeting ends.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine reported on a historic special operation on Russian territory, in which FPV drones taking off from trucks near airfields destroyed dozens of enemy aircraft that were carrying out attacks on Ukraine.
Yesterday, the SBU conducted another special operation aimed at destroying the Crimean Bridge. According to some reports, Marichka underwater drones may have been involved in this attack.
