The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has trained the artificial intelligence «Diya.AI» to communicate by voice. The new integration with technologies from AI startup ElevenLabs allows users to receive government services and consultations without having to type text messages.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has trained the artificial intelligence «Diya.AI» to communicate by voice. The new integration with technologies from AI startup ElevenLabs allows users to receive government services and consultations without having to type text messages.
The launch of the voice assistant was announced by the Ministry of Digital Affairs. The main goal of the update is to create a barrier-free and inclusive environment where interaction with the state becomes accessible to people who have difficulty typing text or reading it from the device screen.
The voice communication format is activated only after confirmation by the user in the portal settings. After that, to start a conversation, just click the button with the image of a sound wave on the main page «Actions» or directly in the open chat. Especially for this update, the developers have added an interactive sound wave that visually reacts to the intonation of the user’s speech.
Algorithms recognize voice requests even in noisy places. Artificial intelligence processes the information, speaks the answer and duplicates it with text on the screen. At the same time, the entire text message history is saved, allowing users to return to the dialogue at any time.
The voice chat completely repeats the functionality of the text version of «Diya.AI». With its help, you can learn about government services on the portal, find up-to-date information about individual entrepreneurs, check your insurance experience or order a certificate of income. Currently, the developers continue to train the system and encourage users to rate the answers with likes or dislikes, as well as leave feedback.
The first version of the AI assistant «Diya.AI» was launched by the Ministry of Digital Affairs in September 2025. At that time, the developers presented it as the world’s first virtual assistant based on artificial intelligence, integrated into the provision of public services. The project partner ElevenLabs is one of the world’s leading startups in the field of AI speech synthesis and the creation of realistic voices in different languages.
