HomeOS has been launched in Ukraine — a service in the form of a Telegram bot named Rumi, which acts as a «digital memory» for the household: it tracks food stocks, warns about product expiration or spoilage, suggests what to cook from what is available, and helps with household chores without unnecessary pressure.

The idea of the service is to eliminate typical everyday inconveniences: forgetting whether there are any eggs left at home and buying an extra package; not noticing how vegetables in the refrigerator have started to spoil; thinking for a long time about what to cook for dinner, looking at a random set of products in the drawers.
Rumi responds to requests directly in the Telegram chat — you can ask if there is a certain product at home, get a warning about the approaching expiration date, or ask to make a dinner recipe from what you already have. Separately, the bot keeps a list of products to replenish so that critical items like coffee don’t run out at the worst possible moment.
According to the author of the application — a developer with the nickname keen.axe, who shared details of the project in Threads — HomeOS was first created as a personal tool and only then was it opened to other users.
The key difference from typical task trackers is the approach without penalties for omissions. An overdue task in the list is not marked red and critical, but receives the status «still waiting». A missed day does not reset the accumulated series of executions, but only puts it on pause — that is, progress is not lost due to one unsuccessful attempt.
There is also a social function: the «Let’s do it together» button does not track the partner’s completion of the task, but only sends them a signal to be nearby — without additional control or reporting.
Separately, the bot can compare prices for products in different locations in Kyiv and create a shopping cart for ordering from Silpo. However, payment is not provided in the bot itself — the decision about the actual purchase and payment always remains with the person.
According to the developer, the application is still in its early stages and raw in places, so the team is open to feedback from users regarding any inconveniences.
