Signing the Voluntary Code of Conduct is part of the formation of a culture of self-regulation of AI, as provided for in the White Paper presented by the Ministry of Digital Affairs.
Self-regulation means that businesses independently develop principles for using AI, compliance with which makes their products safe for users.
Instead, the state and representatives of public organizations provide consultations on the formation of these principles. The goal is to synchronize them with best global practices and the requirements of future legislation on AI in Ukraine.
The voluntary code of conduct consists of 8 principles for the ethical and responsible use, development and management of artificial intelligence systems. These include:
risk-based approach;
safety and reliability;
privacy and data protection;
justice and equality;
transparency;
human control and monitoring;
leadership and awareness development;
intellectual property.
Each principle provides a list of recommended actions aimed at complying with it.
Importantly, the Code does not cover issues related to the development or use of AI in the national security and defense sector.
The document stipulates that the signatory companies will create a self-regulatory organization. It will monitor the companies' compliance with the principles proclaimed in the document, and should also provide for the possibility of excluding those companies that discredit the self-regulation process. The form and other features of the self-regulatory organization of companies will be determined during the vote.
Other companies can join the organization and thus prove their ethics. To do this, you need to write to Olga Petriv, a lawyer from the AI Center for Democracy and the Rule of Law, at [email protected].

Тест dev.ua
