Imports of electric cars to Ukraine increased by 38%. Where are new and used cars imported from?
In the first half of 2025, imports of passenger electric vehicles to Ukraine increased by 38% compared to last year and reached 42,700 units.
In the first half of 2025, imports of passenger electric vehicles to Ukraine increased by 38% compared to last year and reached 42,700 units.
This was reported by the Ukravtoprom association, citing data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. The total customs value of these cars amounted to $813.8 million.
The increase in imports is mainly due to the import of used cars.
Import statistics:
9,600 new cars were imported, which is 19% more than in the first half of last year. Their total customs value is $232.1 million.
Used cars — 33,100, an increase of 45%. The import price of used cars amounted to $581.7 million.
The geography of imports varies significantly depending on the condition of the cars:
Ukraine receives new electric vehicles mainly from China, which accounts for 91% of supplies. It is followed by Japan (4%) and Germany (3%).
The largest importer of used electric vehicles is the United States (39%), followed by Korea (17%), and Germany (15%).
These data indicate that the Ukrainian electric vehicle market is actively developing, and the demand for such vehicles continues to grow rapidly.
Previously, dev.ua reported that among the new electric cars imported this year, the most popular are BYD Song Plus, VOLKSWAGEN ID.Unyx, ZEEKR 001, ZEEKR 7X and AUDI Q4 e-tron. Among the used ones are TESLA Model Y, NISSAN Leaf, TESLA Model 3, HYUNDAI Kona and KIA Niro.
