Valeria Ionan, who as Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation communicated with tech companies such as Google and Microsoft, became an advisor to Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on international projects.
Fedorov announced this appointment on his social media.
Valeria Ionan worked for 6 years at the Ministry of Digital Transformation, heading key national projects, areas of regional digitalization and European integration.
«She coordinated international communication with such global technology companies as Google, Cisco, Microsoft, Palantir, IBM, international organizations and governments around the world. She also participated in the coordination of the Tallinn Mechanism, an international initiative that has already allocated €241.7 million for Ukraine’s cyber resilience,» noted Mykhailo Fedorov.
In the summer of 2025, Ionan announced that she was stepping down from her position as Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation. Instead, she began serving as Advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on Innovation, Digitalization, and Global Partnerships.
«Valeria continues to work internationally with governments and companies on designing and scaling technology-driven public-private partnerships. So her experience will strengthen our work,» the Minister of Defense believes.
Fedorov added that an audit of existing international projects is currently underway, and work is also underway on new strategic partnerships.
