Apple itself announced this on its website, adding that this allows iPhones and iPads to be used with classified NATO information without the need for special software or settings.
The company recalled that previously, iPhones and iPads were authorized to process classified German government data on devices using built-in iOS and iPadOS security features. Now, iPhones and iPads with iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 are certified for such use in all NATO countries.
«This achievement marks Apple’s transformation of traditional approaches to security. Before the iPhone, secure devices were only available to government and enterprise organizations after significant investments in custom solutions,» said Ivan Krstic, Apple’s vice president of security engineering and architecture.
We previously reported that Apple has begun mass blocking the accounts of Russians who are under sanctions.
Before that, Apple reported record quarterly iPhone sales in the company’s history.
