In Zaporizhia, law enforcement officers prevented the kidnapping of a local resident, which was ordered by his father and older brother in order to gain access to a crypto wallet with $500 000, the Prosecutor General’s Office reports .
«According to the investigation, the father and his eldest son, who had gone abroad at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, decided to order the kidnapping of their younger son due to financial disagreements. The latter was involved in cryptocurrency,» the report said.

The crime was then carried out under the supervision of law enforcement officers. The perpetrators staged the kidnapping of the victim and sent his older brother a bloody photo of him. After receiving the photo, the father called his ex-wife with a request to help free their child, but on one condition — to return the flash drive and transfer money to the perpetrators for his release.
The issue of declaring the father and eldest son suspected of extortion (Part 4, Article 189 of the Criminal Code) is currently being resolved. Materials are being prepared to declare them wanted.
