The Tochnyi collective project, which covers Russia’s war against Ukraine, has created the Human Safari Map. This is an online map that shows cases of so-called «human safari» in Kherson, where Russian drone operators hunt civilians.
«Russian drones haunt Kherson every day, indiscriminately hunting civilians. Over 3,000 victims have been recorded since 2023,» the developers of Human Safari Map noted.
The map description indicates that since 2023, Russian troops have been conducting «human safaris» — they are launching drones into the northern part of Kherson to maim and kill civilian residents.
«This map is the result of months of hard work and collaboration between several members and contributors of the Tochnyi project. Ever since I started tracking civilian casualties in Kherson over a year ago, I wanted to show the scale of Russia’s ‘human safari’ to show people how systemic it is,» said Brendan Kelly, one of the map’s creators.
The online map recorded 2,877 cases from January 2024 to July 2025. The Human Safari Map separates rescuer strikes into when people died as a result of the strikes or were injured.
According to journalist Keolan Robertson, who covers Russia’s war against Ukraine, the Human Safari Map resembles maps of the bombing of London during World War II. «Everyone should see this,» Robertson believes.
«Russian drones are already flying in on fiber optics.» The head of the Kherson OVA explained under what conditions the enemy’s «drone terror» in Kherson could stop
