Leslie Benzies, former president of Rockstar North and lead game designer behind GTA III, GTA IV, and GTA V, has released the first gameplay trailer for his upcoming game MindsEye, which is scheduled for release in the summer of 2025, ahead of GTA VI.
MindsEye is a third-person action game set in a futuristic world «where AI and human greed collide to bring Earth to the brink of collapse».
Players will take on the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier with a mysterious neural implant who suffers from memory loss and flashbacks. Developers at Build A Rocket Boy promises a series of dangerous missions in a world «filled with the constant threat of artificial intelligence, high-tech experiments, corporate espionage, political corruption, and an out-of-control military.»
According to them, MindsEye will have a captivating complex plot with rich environments, «revolutionary combat, futuristic technology, and high-speed chases».
Build A Rocket Boy is said to be creating an ambitious, open-world online game called Everywhere. It’s a futuristic, casual multiplayer game with shooter and racing elements. But its main feature is the game-making tools that Benzies hopes will turn Everywhere into the next Roblox or Fortnite .
The MindsEye trailer that Benzies showed off during State of Play doesn’t mention Everywhere, but a press release obtained by PC Gamer does indicate that MindsEye is part of the Everywhere world.
Recall that Take-Two, which owns the Rockstar studio, reported its financial results for the third quarter and once again indicated the release window for GTA VI in the fall of 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Previously, gaming journalists predicted that the release of GTA VI could be postponed to 2026, but the CEO of Take-Two assures that the game will be released as planned.
