Former marketing director of monobank Anatoliy Rogalsky, who is currently waiting for Apple’s decision on his project — the medical AI application Jane — has simultaneously coded CoCoffee — an application for those who prepare coffee at home.
The startuper came up with the idea after Rogalsky published a post about how he doesn’t understand how anyone can regularly drink anything other than filter coffee — according to him, the only exception he makes is for an Americano made with James Hoffman’s recipe.
The post garnered a lot of discussion in the comments, which prompted him to develop the topic further.
Rogalsky himself describes himself not as a coffee fanatic, but as someone «somewhere halfway» to it. However, it was on this interest that he built an application for those who want to not just drink coffee, but turn it into a ritual — to understand what they like, delve into the topic and have a personal «coffee passport.» The author himself describes CoCoffee as «Vivino for coffee» — by analogy with the popular application for rating and tracking wines.
How it works
The basic idea behind CoCoffee is to take a picture of a packet of coffee beans and instantly get a brewing recipe that best reveals the flavor of that particular bean. If the user has a compatible coffee machine, the app can automatically send the recipe directly to it; if not, the recipe can be used for other brewing methods, including V60 or AeroPress.
The application also allows you to save your own recipes, edit them, share them with friends, and view what other users are preparing. «I solved all my coffee problems with one app and I am very satisfied,» Rogalsky wrote.
The author invited those who wish to test the beta version: the first 10 people who leave a «+» in the comments under his post will receive a link to the beta.
«We managed to combine the expertise of a doctor and the capabilities of AI.» Anatoliy Rogalsky announced the start of beta testing of the health-tech application Jane
