A woman from Khmelnytskyi region tried to smuggle 500 Apple and Samsung gadgets worth UAH 17 million: customs officers found the stash
At the entrance to Ukraine through the Shehyny-Medika checkpoint, customs officers stopped a MERCEDES-BENZ car. A 46-year-old resident of Khmelnytskyi region was driving. The woman chose the "green corridor" for the inspection, thereby showing that she had nothing to declare and pay duty. However, a secret stash in her car indicated the opposite.

During an inspection of the car, customs and border guards discovered a secret hiding place — a "double wall" installed between the trunk and the passenger compartment, the State Customs Service of Ukraine reports .
Inside the cache were 487 gadgets, including 303 Apple iPhone smartphones, 19 Samsung Galaxy mobile phones, six Google Pixel devices, and 159 Apple AirPods Pro 3 wireless headphones.
All of this illegal cargo was seized from the driver, and its estimated value is UAH 17 million.
Customs officers drew up a report on the violator under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. This is classified as an administrative offense, which is punishable by a fine of 50% to 100% of the value of the goods (with their possible confiscation), as well as confiscation of the vehicles used for transportation.
