The founder of PetCube and the miltech startup TheFourthLaw, Yaroslav Azhnyuk, reported that the Kurbas thermal imaging cameras of another of his startups, Odd Systems, are being installed on Sting interceptor drones from Wild Hornets.
«Dozens of Iranian-Russian drones have already been intercepted by the Ukrainian military using Wild Hornets Sting interceptors equipped with Kurbas-640-Alpha thermal imaging cameras,» Azhnyuk said.
According to him, Odd Systems cameras turned out to be more effective than the Chinese Caddx ones. Azhnyuk claims that Kurbas cameras are superior to them in terms of image quality, reliability under strong vibrations, and moisture resistance, and also have a lower price.
The Ukrainian company «Wild Hornets» is mostly silent about the characteristics of the Sting drones. The Sting wasfirstshown last fall. At that time, the developers said that the drone could fly at a speed of more than 160 km per hour and climb to a height of about 3 km.
In the winter of 2025, the Wild Hornets tested an updated version of the «Shaheed Hunter.»
«Successful test of a new modification of the fastest interceptor — STING. New versions of our fastest drones can now fly twice as long while maintaining their speed,» the startup said .
In May, the first videos of Sting’s work on Shahed drones began to appear.
