Kyivstar, Ukraine’s largest mobile operator, has completed emergency recovery operations and eliminated the consequences of hostile attacks on its data center. The equipment, which was damaged as a result of several Russian attacks on September 11, is now fully repaired and back in working order.
This was reported to dev.ua by two independent sources in the telecommunications market who are well aware of the state of affairs in the company.
According to the publication’s interlocutors, the operator’s engineers and technical specialists carried out work to replace and adjust damaged components.
"The technical team made tremendous efforts to stabilize the system in a short time and bring the equipment into full operational mode," one of the sources noted.
A second source for dev.ua confirmed that key infrastructure elements that were damaged by the September attacks are back in working order. This has eliminated the most critical risks to network stability caused by the September 11 attacks.
Official representatives of Kyivstar do not comment on the situation around specific infrastructure facilities.
As a reminder, during September, Russian forces carried out a series of targeted attacks on Ukraine’s digital and telecom infrastructure. The strikes damaged data centers and offices of a number of leading technology companies and operators.
