Kyivstar buys GigaCloud provider for almost $50 million

Telecommunications operator Kyivstar Group has signed an agreement to acquire Ukrainian cloud infrastructure provider GigaCloud. The total transaction amount could reach almost UAH 2.28 billion (up to $50 million).

The companies officially announced the signing of the agreement on October 28. According to the telecom operator's release, the financing structure consists of a base acquisition cost of $41 million. Up to $4 million is set aside to cover deferred debt obligations, and about $5 million will be paid subject to achieving agreed performance indicators and implementing capital investments.

GigaCloud has been operating on the market since 2016, and currently has infrastructure in Ukraine and Poland. The cloud provider serves over 1,800 corporate clients. According to unaudited management reporting data, in 2025 the company's revenue amounted to about $14 million, and EBITDA profitability was $4.7 million (marginality at 34%).

After the closing of the transaction, which is still subject to standard legal procedures, GigaCloud will retain the status of a separate business unit within the Kyivstar group. The company will retain its brand, and its founders will continue to carry out operational management. The terms of service for existing customers remain unchanged.

Kyivstar Group President Oleksandr Komarov noted that combining GigaCloud's expertise and the telecom operator's investment capabilities will allow scaling technological solutions for the corporate segment. For his part, GigaCloud CEO Nazariy Kurochko expects that the investments will accelerate the development of infrastructure and allow the provider to expand its market presence.

This transaction continues Kyivstar's strategic course to diversify its business and go beyond classic mobile services in the B2B market. The operator already has experience in integrating large technology companies - in particular, in 2022 Kyivstar acquired a majority stake in the largest medical information system in Ukraine, Helsi.
