In March, Mykhailo Fedorov announced that the Ministry of Digital Transformation is beginning the development of the first Ukrainian-language large language model (LLM) of national scale.
Later, Kyivstar will be directly involved. The national LLM will be trained on Ukrainian data, will understand the national context, dialects, and terms, and on the basis of the national LLM, AI products for the state and the defense sector will be launched.
Now Kyivstar.Tech, which is developing this model, has announced which specialists it needs. The company currently has the following vacancies:
«Kyivstar.Tech is looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist / Head of Natural Language Processing (NLP) to lead the development of advanced natural language processing solutions for our Ukrainian LLM project. You will lead our NLP team in the development, implementation, and deployment of large-scale language models and NLP algorithms that power our products,» the job description says.
For the position of Senior Data Scientist, a candidate is required to have more than five years of experience in data science or machine learning, with a special focus on NLP. Benefits include bonuses, insurance, and reimbursement of Kyivstar mobile communication expenses.
Kyivstar.Tech notes that it is a hybrid IT company and a resident of Diia.City. It currently employs about 500 specialists.
