SoftServe co-founder Taras Kytsmey said that due to the impact of artificial intelligence on the industry, his company adjusted its hiring of specialists.
He said this at the annual meeting of the European Business Association, The Page reports .
«AI, artificial intelligence, is starting to have a very strong impact on software development processes. We are increasingly looking at machine learning specialists, big data specialists — a kind of 'intelligent engineers'. And we are looking less and less at testers and traditional programmers,» Kitsmey said.
At the same time, Kytsmey assessed that currently, despite mobilization and emigration, the Ukrainian IT industry is not experiencing a critical shortage of personnel.
«The peculiarity of IT is that before the war we were at a stage of rapid growth and created a kind of „machine for producing“ new personnel. And when the war began, this machine continued to work with universities, etc., and IT today does not experience a shortage of personnel,» he believes.
Meanwhile, according to Kitsmey, the main challenge for the export of IT services remains bias on the part of global customers, although Ukrainian companies demonstrate consistently high quality of service even during a full-scale war.
According to him, the standard Net Promoter Score (customer loyalty indicator) is used to assess how a company is coping with challenges.
«Our rating is 83–85%, compared to the average in our industry of 40–50%. That is, in Ukraine, despite the war, the quality of our services is higher than the average in the global industry,» Kitsmey is convinced.
Earlier, co-founder and member of the board of directors of SoftServe, Taras Kytsmey, expressed his belief that the Ukrainian state should take significant steps to attract foreign investors, as has been done, for example, in Dubai.
In addition, Kitsmey believes that the Ukrainian state must change its attitude towards business.
