“We invite you to the SoftServe offices, we take you through the parking lot with expensive cars so that you understand the prospects.” Taras Kytsmey spoke about the work the company is doing with students

SoftServe co-founder Taras Kytsmey said that the IT company has created joint programs with elements of dual education with a number of domestic universities.
Kitsmey told about this in an interview with Forbes.
“In Lviv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, where we have development centers, we jointly train students and hire them. We choose a certain direction (often a department), develop a bachelor’s program, conduct a marketing campaign with the university to attract the best applicants. We form a dream in them. We invite them to the SoftServe offices, take them through the parking lot with expensive cars owned by former students, so that they understand the prospects,” he noted.
According to Kitsmey, SoftServe specialists deliver individual lectures in a course taught by a university professor, and the company pays additional funding to the professors.
“In the third or fourth year, we take students for internships with the possibility of employment,” explained the co-founder of the IT company.
Taras Kytsmey is also convinced that state universities must complete their transition from a planned economy to a market economy.
“Now they are sitting on state budgets. There is a ministry, and everyone is trying to be friends with it to get funding. And the clients are actually sitting in schools. Universities should compete with their product — a bachelor’s or master’s program. We will not offer competitive programs — fewer talented children will come. They will go to Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Austria, and we will work with those who are there,” the head of SoftServe concluded.
Among other problems of university education, he named neglected personnel management, as well as the lack of a leadership school in the system.
Kitsmey also announced that in September this year, the company will announce the first hundred students of joint programs who will receive scholarships from it.
“The budget is UAH 5 million. Such funds should be filled with university graduates and managers of existing enterprises in the industry,” he stated.
