Lviv IT Cluster has launched an M&A office. Currently focused on the Ukrainian market, but plans to enter the European market. The team helps businesses prepare for a merger or acquisition deal.
This was stated by Stepan Veselovsky, CEO of the Lviv IT Cluster, in an interview with Forbes Ukraine. He explains that M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) is the next step in implementing the accumulated experience.
"For the Cluster, this is a logical stage of development. We have been working directly with companies for years, providing legal and financial services, helping to enter new markets and exchange experience. We also regularly conduct research - both national and local," says Veselovsky.
The Lviv M&A office already has three clients, but it's too early to talk about announcements regarding mergers and acquisitions.
The office structures the business and prepares it for a possible merger or acquisition: it conducts an audit, prepares the necessary documents, and closes legal issues. As a result, the buyer receives not a chaotic business that still needs to be studied, but a systematized company ready for a deal.
"The Lviv IT Cluster unites over 300 companies of various sizes: some want to buy, others want to be bought. And it's not just about exits - we live in an era of challenges," notes the CEO of the Lviv IT Cluster.
Over time, they plan to enter the European market to help Ukrainian companies with M&A. “We have enough experience: we have been researching the markets of Poland and Central and Eastern Europe for many years,” adds Veselovsky.
In addition, in the future they plan to launch their own Equity Fund to invest in the Ukrainian market, which they plan to announce soon.
“In the optimistic scenario, up to 20,000 representatives of the IT industry will leave Ukraine. In the pessimistic scenario, 75,000. This is a third of the industry.” Forecast of the CEO of the Lviv IT cluster
"In Ukraine, 15,000-18,000 IT specialists out of 330,000 have been booked." The Kharkiv IT Cluster has compiled statistics on bookings and mobilization of IT specialists
“It is important to add those participants who are ready to take concrete steps, and not just be a list-keeper.” The new head of the Kyiv IT cluster on future and current changes in the community and what needs to be worked on now
