Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that makes it mandatory to verify all Starlink satellite terminals operating in Ukraine. Unverified devices will be disconnected from the network over time. These measures were taken to prevent the use of smuggled Starlink terminals by the Russian military on Ukrainian territory.
«It is important to register your Starlink terminal if you are in Ukraine,» said SpaceX owner Elon Musk.
He quoted a post by SpaceX Vice President Lauren Dreyer, who is in charge of business operations in the Starlink department. She also published instructions from the Ministry of Digital Affairs on how to register a Starlink terminal in Ukraine .
«The Starlink terminals included in the 'white list' are working — the Russian terminals have already been blocked. We continue to verify the Starlink terminals. The first batch of terminals that were included in the 'white list' are already working,» Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov said .
According to him, so far the «white lists» of terminals are updated once a day. Fedorov noted that this is a «very large-scale process» that takes time. Currently, Ukraine is working to ensure that data is received for verification in real time.
«Civilians need to verify their Starlinks through the Central Service Center. For legal entities, the corresponding service will soon be available on the Diya portal,» Fedorov reminded.
The Minister of Defense thanked the Ukrainian military and commanders who promptly verified their terminals, because «communication stability is critically important for the front.»
«Our troops found out that there were problems with those who did not promptly submit lists for private Starlink. The processing process is ongoing,» said military expert on drones and electronic warfare Sergey «Flash» Bezkrestnov.
He reported that the Russian occupiers were experiencing a «catastrophe» due to the Starlink outage, which affected the command and control of the invading forces. As a result, the Russians were forced to halt assault operations in many areas of the front.
