Earlier this month, Musk’s SpaceX announced a tender offer that valued it at $800 billion, up from $400 billion in August.
According to the American Forbes, citing information from two investors in the company, this increased the fortune of Musk, who owns approximately 42% of SpaceX, by $168 billion, to approximately $677 billion.
The publication reminds that previously none of the rich had even $500 billion.
The tender offer comes as SpaceX plans to hold an IPO in 2026, where the company could be valued at around $1.5 trillion.
The tender offer and SpaceX’s IPO plans have previously been reported by a number of publications, but representatives for Musk and SpaceX did not respond to Forbes' requests for comment on the subject.
The publication also reminds that Elon Musk’s 12% stake in Tesla is worth $197 billion.
Additionally, Musk’s company xAI Holdings is reportedly in talks to raise new funding at a valuation of $230 billion, more than double the previous valuation of $113 billion that Musk announced in March.
Musk owns 53% of xAI Holdings, worth $60 billion.
The publication, meanwhile, emphasizes that in March 2020 alone, Musk’s fortune amounted to «only» $24.6 billion.
