As Oboronka writes, at the Brave1 Defense Tech Valley 2025 exhibition, the developers revealed that they had been working on the drone for the past year.
«Requests for the development of this drone came from special units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They wanted a ground-based drone that could conditionally travel 10 kilometers, enter a certain place, swim across a water obstacle, perform a certain action, and return,» a representative of the development company told Oborontsi.
The development has the following characteristics:
- The robot can carry up to 500 kg of cargo on its own and 1,500 kg by tow.
- The range with full load is 20 km.
- Speed on land is 10 km/h, and on water is 15 km/h.
- The engine is electric.
- When crossing the river, the drone is propelled by 24 kW water jets, like on jet skis.
- In terms of dimensions, the BI34G is just wide enough to fit into any minibus used by the military.
The closed capsule allows it to be used for medical evacuation. The work includes fasteners for tensioning a net to protect the injured person from «drops» and FPV drones.
The problem during development was adapting the robot to drive onto a high bank — in some places it could not get out of the water. Therefore, the team decided to put two tracks instead of wheels and develop a special suspension. Now, when the amphibian drone drives onto a high bank at a high angle with the front track, the rear track does not hang in the air, but clings to the side surface of the bank, supporting the machine upwards.
According to the developer, the basic version of such a drone will cost $25,000-30,000. The product is currently in the process of codification at the Ministry of Defense.
